SOM Named Finalist for Crain’s Women-Forward Workplace Award

SOMWI tour
An architecture tour led by the SOM Women's Initiative.

We have been selected as a Women-Forward Workplace Finalist for Crain’s New York Business Women of Influence Award.  This honor recognizes ten organizations across industries that have programs, initiatives, and policies that advance women in the workplace and demonstrate a commitment to women having a voice in planning and operations. On May 10th, Crain’s will host a luncheon to announce the winners in each category.

For many decades, we have championed the leadership of women in our practice. Natalie de Blois designed some of our most notable works and some of the tallest buildings in the world. Caroline Woo and Nancy A. Abshire deepened our presence in Asia and Europe respectively and set us up on the course for sustainable practice that we continue to tread. Marilyn Jordan Taylor cultivated our global reputation for large-scale urban projects and civic initiatives, becoming our chairperson in 2001. Today, we are proud to be led by an all-female Executive Committee, comprising three Managing Partners: Carrie Byles, Xuan Fu, and Laura Ettelman.
