Strategist Iben Falconer to Lead SOM’s Global Marketing and Business Development

SOM welcomes Iben Falconer to its management team as Global Marketing and Business Development Leader. With more than 10 years of experience, Falconer will play a key role in advancing SOM’s business strategy, including its commitments to meaningful client engagement, deep market intelligence, and operational excellence. Based in SOM’s New York office, Falconer will work closely with SOM leadership to energize and streamline the firm’s marketing and business development approach worldwide.

A strategist and business development specialist with a passion for design, Falconer most recently served as a Director at Gehl, where she focused on strategic partnerships and investments for their Innovation Team. Prior, she served as Business Development Director at Bjarke Ingels Group in New York, where she led business strategy during a period of rapid growth for the firm. Additionally, Falconer has worked for the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, Steven Holl Architects, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Urban Land Institute (ULI). She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Brown University and a Master of Environmental Design from Yale University. She is an active member of ULI and previously served as the co-chair of the ULI New York Women’s Leadership Initiative. She has lectured widely and is a columnist for Madame Architect.

Iben joins SOM’s global leadership team, which includes Robert DeMillo, Chief Technology Officer; Jeff Goldsmith, General Counsel; Candace Carroll, Chief Financial Officer, Doryse Franco, Chief People Officer, and Daria Pahhota, Head of Global Communications.
