SOM’s Sustainability Director Mina Hasman has been elected as the Chair of the 2023 RIBA Silver Medal judging panel.

The President’s Medals are the institute’s oldest awards and are regarded today as the most prestigious prizes in architectural education globally. The awards celebrate talent and promote excellence in education with entries welcomed by invitation from schools of architecture across the globe.

In her role at SOM, Mina leads our sustainability and wellbeing daily operations and long-term vision. Most recently, she led the development of our new standalone Whole Life Carbon Accounting Service, a system for evaluating and measuring whole-life carbon emissions from the very start of a project and throughout its life cycle. Mina also wrote the RIBA Climate Guide, which provides a roadmap for implementing climate-conscious practices and sustainable design for the built environment.

Mina is joined by fellow jury members Shawn Adams, Nana Biamah-Ofusu, David Hills, Helen Iball and Albert Williamson Taylor.
