After breaking ground in early 2024, Legend has finished its underground foundation phase. The first structural elements of the 190-meter are now officially visible at street level in Guadalajara’s Zapopan district.

Designed by SOM, in collaboration with Mexico City-based firm AMA, the project relies on a modular facade system engineered specifically for the site. Precast concrete fins with a local red volcanic aggregate are hand-chiseled to achieve a stone-like finish that references the region’s natural soil. These precast elements create a striking constraint with the underlying curved glass facade, framing interior views while providing depth and texture to the building envelope. At the ground plane, the project unfolds around a stone-paved central plaza where architecture and landscape merge through a carefully curated regional plant palette, reinforcing the project’s identity.

When completed in 2029, Legend will be the tallest tower in Zapopan, with 52-stories of combined 7,900 square meters of office space, a 190-room hotel, and 202 residential units, anchored by indoor-outdoor spaces that preserve views toward the La Primavera Biosphere Reserve.
