Emily Mottolese is a managing director based in SOM's New York office. Early in her career, she gained extensive experience working as an architectural designer on numerous international projects, including government headquarters, commercial developments, and luxury residences. Mottolese has utilized this background in design to successfully expand into project management at SOM.
As a leader in SOM's Middle East practice, Mottolese has brought her management expertise to a wide variety of architecture, interior design, and planning projects. Her diverse portfolio in the region includes complex large-scale mixed-use projects, as well as hospitality, residential, education, commercial office, cultural, civic, infrastructure, sports, and critical facilities. Kuwait University Admin Facilities, Al Ahmadi Cultural Center, and the United Arab Emirates Mission to the United Nations in New York City are among her current projects.
In managing projects, Mottolese establishes project goals and schedules weekly team meetings to provide a forum for exchanging information, resolving issues, and assuring adherence to the budget and timeline. She is also responsible for all document development, integrating all project requirements, and confirming the thoroughness and technical quality of all project deliverables.
