On 13 October, SOM London Managing Partner Thomas Behr participated in the opening panel discussion at leading architecture magazine THE PLAN’s Perspective UK Forum, hosted at Church House in Westminster.
Titled “The Next Decade of London Real Estate”, the panel brought together prominent architects to examine the key drivers influencing the future of the UK capital’s built environment and how the profession can make a meaningful contribution to a more resilient, sustainable urban environment.
During the session, Thomas addressed the role for green space, urban density, scale, and retrofit in the city’s changing development landscape. Drawing on SOM’s portfolio of work across London, he highlighted projects such as Harrow Square—a vibrant mixed-use scheme that delivered new homes alongside a public library, central square, and retail in the London Borough of Harrow in 2019.
