Global Marketing Director

Washington, D.C.

A seasoned marketer and business strategy leader, Susan has focused her career on helping firms in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry pursue and win new work. Based in Washington, D.C., Susan has deep expertise in large federal government projects. She has a track record of forming compelling teams, including strategic joint ventures, to win sought-after commissions.

At SOM, Susan co-leads a global team of more than 30 marketers and business developers. She has led proposals for numerous design, program management, and design-build construction projects. Notable wins include the new production facility for the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Bureau of Engraving and Printing, the Fort Lauderdale Federal Courthouse, and the revitalization of the Hirshhorn Museum.

Working at SOM means teaming up with talented designers who bring exceptional project experience to the table. It makes my job easier when I’m selling the best projects—and the brightest minds—in architecture and engineering.

Susan is an active member, and fellow since 2018, of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME); she recently served as president of the local chapter. She is also a fellow of the Society of Marketing and Professional Services (SMPS), where she has held leadership positions at the local and national level and delivered training seminars and workshops to help cultivate the next generation of marketing and business development leaders.
