A communications and public relations strategist, Elizabeth is passionate about amplifying the voices of designers, highlighting the ideas behind their work, and expanding their practices. With degrees in architectural design and criticism from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of Toronto, she leverages her design expertise to raise architects’ profiles and build their reputation. As the Global Communications Leader at SOM, she leads all communications for the multidisciplinary firm, directing a team of public relations professionals, writers, and photographers to highlight the firm’s innovation and achievements, from launching the annual Climate Action Report to deploying a bio-based concrete alternative at the Chicago Architecture Biennial.
Prior to SOM, she was the Director of Communications at Studio Gang, and more recently, she was part of the team selected to represent the United States at the 2023 Venice Architecture Biennale. Outside of work, Elizabeth acts as a volunteer coordinator at Market Box, a mutual aid project that addresses food insecurity on the South Side of Chicago.
