On Wednesday, December 6, SOM Principal Yasemin Kologlu will deliver a keynote presentation—”The Fifth Industrial Revolution & Closing The Carbon Loop”—as part of the official COP28 Buildings Pavilion, hosted by the Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction (GlobalABC).

Building upon SOM’s participation at the past two editions of the conference, Yasemin will present the multiple ways our firm is working to positively shape the built environment through zero-carbon and human-centric approaches to benefit both people and the planet in the context of the fifth industrial revolution.

At COP28, Yasemin will also be speaking as part of Dubai Holding’s presence in the Green Zone’s Energy Transition Hub, and as part of the COP28 Marrakech Partnership for Global Climate Action Event, “Urban Evolution: Championing Tomorrow’s Low-Carbon and Resilient Human Settlements and Transport Networks,” in the Blue Zone’s Climate Action Zone.

Based in our New York office, Yasemin is a recognized leader in sustainable design and construction and plays a central role in SOM’s efforts to transform the building industry’s response to the climate crisis. She is also a founder and leader of SOM’s Climate Action Group, which last year helped the firm achieve carbon neutrality in its operations.
