On Monday, April 3rd, SOM Structural and Civil Engineering Partner William F. Baker and Managing Partner Thomas Behr will deliver a lecture at AIT ArchitekturSalon in Cologne, Germany. The event coincides with the venue’s hosting of “The Engineering of Architecture,” a traveling exhibition that explores SOM’s rich history of structural engineering.
Informed by SOM’s 80-year history, Baker and Behr will discuss the firm’s design philosophies, current projects, and emerging ideas within technical design. Baker leads the firm’s global structural engineering practice from SOM’s Chicago office. Behr is based in SOM’s London office, where he primarily oversees the firm’s projects in the Middle East.
Open to the public, “The Engineering of Architecture” is on display at AIT ArchitekturSalon until May 11th, 2017.
