SOM Leaders to Present at the ULI Asia Pacific Summit in Tokyo

    At 10:40 a.m., SOM Managing Principal Vram Malek is a panelist during the Decarbonisation and Resilience Forum. He will emphasize the urgent need to retrofit existing buildings for net-zero goals, highlighting that 80 percent of the buildings expected to stand in 2050 already exist. The discussion will delve into overcoming barriers to widespread retrofit adoption and devising effective strategies to enhance building performance, reduce emissions, improve tenant well-being, and boost long-term asset value.

    At 1 p.m., SOM Design Principal Nic Medrano and Japan Business Leader Kenichiro Suzuki will showcase key placemaking strategies based on SOM’s Asia Pacific projects and their relevance to Japanese projects. During the evening, don’t miss the ULI Asia Pacific Awards for Excellence ceremony where Otemachi One, the largest mixed-use development in Tokyo’s Otemachi district, is a finalist. Winners will be announced during the event.

    Asia Pacific Practice Leader Peter Brannan will speak during the Product Council Meetings from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
