Three SOM projects were recognized in the 2022 NYCxDESIGN Awards, a program presented by Interior Design magazine that honors projects and products built and created throughout New York City.

The Permanent Mission of the United Arab Emirates to the United Nations won the civic/institutional category. The Permanent Mission is designed to harmonize with New York’s architectural past, while also reflecting the identity of the UAE and the traditions of Middle Eastern hospitality.

SOM’s New York studio was an honoree in the medium office category. The new studio, located at 7 World Trade Center, is an expansive, flexible space characterized by healthy materials, a responsible approach to the use of resources, and a focus on sustainable design and wellbeing.

Pendry Hotel at Manhattan West was also an honoree in the hotel category.
