On Thursday, June 16th, Amtrak, Brandywine Realty Trust, Drexel University, PennDOT, and SEPTA unveiled the Philadelphia 30th Street Station District Plan. Master-planned by SOM, this collaborative planning effort lays out the vision to develop a new city center around Philadelphia’s busiest transit hub.
At the unveiling event at 30th Street Station, the project partners announced the initiation of several follow-on projects to improve the immediate station area and catalyze future development. Amtrak premiered a video about the collaboration between key stakeholders to create long-term civic and economic value for Philadelphia. SOM Associate Director Kristopher Takács and Associate Daniel O’Shaughnessy joined other attendees to hear more about the long-range effort to develop a comprehensive vision for the future of the 30th Street Station District in the year 2050 and beyond.
