SOM Technical Director Nicholas Holt will give a keynote address at this year’s Architectural Engineering Institute (AEI) Conference on March 26, 2015. His talk, titled “The Performance Imperative: Integration and Innovation in the Built Environment,” will suggest that we are entering a new era of high performance design, defined by structures that are both technologically innovative and responsive to their local settings.
To illustrate his argument, Holt will highlight several SOM buildings, including P.S. 62, the Center for Character and Leadership Development at the United States Air Force Academy, Terminal 2 at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, and the Cathedral of Christ the Light.
Held annually, the AEI conference brings together engineers, architects, and construction managers for lectures by experts in the field. The theme of this year’s conference is “Birth and Life of the Integrated Building.”
