Egypt’s National Cancer Institute (NCI) has unveiled plans for its new nine-million-square-foot campus in Giza’s Sheikh Zayed City, situated approximately 17 miles west of central Cairo. When complete, the new NCI will combine a 1,000-bed teaching hospital with an extensive outpatient center. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP, the project is targeting LEED Gold certification and is designed to U.S. medical planning standards.
