FAIA, Technical Design Partner
As the Technical Design Partner for SOM, Boswell is responsible for firm-wide technical design and orchestrates and oversees detailed design and construction documentation for all West Coast projects. Since joining SOM in 1981, he has worked on high-rise office buildings, government facilities, amusement parks, residential and mixed-use complexes, and international and domestic airport passenger terminals.
Boswell specializes in designing and executing technically complex building systems, and actively engages in research and application of materials and systems for use in SOM's projects. He is also the author of Exterior Building Enclosures: Design Process and Composition for Innovative Facades, which addresses the design and execution of sophisticated building envelopes.
His work includes Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland, California; San Francisco International Airport – International Terminal; New United States Courthouse – Los Angeles; 111 Main in Salt Lake City, Utah; and Poly International Plaza in Beijing, China.
