Thomas is a Managing Partner in SOM’s London office, having relocated from New York in 2016. Today, he oversees and leads SOM’s work across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Thomas joined SOM in 2000 as an architectural designer and became a project manager in 2004. Since then, he has contributed to a wide range of international projects, including infrastructure, master plans, commercial buildings, mixed-use developments, educational, sports, and hospitality projects across the globe.

Under his leadership, SOM’s London office has delivered high-profile projects such as the urban regeneration of New Covent Garden Market (including Thames City), the renovation of the United Nations’ Palais des Nations in Geneva, and the repositioning of Corso Italia 23, a Gio Ponti–designed modernist office complex in Milan.

In the Middle East and Africa, Thomas leads large-scale developments and aviation projects, including the T3A West Terminal at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and the new N’Djili International Airport Terminal in Kinshasa, reimagining the DRC’s primary aviation gateway. He is also experienced in hospitality, having contributed to projects for Four Seasons in Bahrain and Jeddah and the Park Hotel in Hyderabad.

Thomas advances SOM’s commitment to sustainable design, integrating social, environmental, and economic considerations at every stage. By guiding his teams to balance these responsibilities, he enables the delivery of innovative, high-impact solutions that create lasting value for clients, developers, and communities alike.
