Today, SOM welcomes Dennis Ho to our Hong Kong studio as Director of Strategic Development for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.
“The most successful projects, whether it’s a commercial development, a new transit hub, or a large-scale master plan, bring a multidisciplinary perspective to the process,” said Dennis. “That’s exactly how SOM approaches every project, and I look forward to helping our team create more livable, equitable, and sustainable cities across the region.”
Prior to joining SOM, Dennis served as Director of Architecture and East Asia Region Design Lead at Arup, Principal and Practice Leader at Hassell, and Associate Partner leading design and business in Southeast Asia at Richard Rogers Partnership. Spanning 25+ years of practice, his work has encompassed a broad range of projects, from the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park master plan to transportation hubs, civic and leisure projects, residences, hotels, and mixed-use developments such as Parc.1, a multi-towered, transit-oriented precinct in Seoul. He is Chair of the RIBA Hong Kong Chapter and a member of the RIBA International Advisory Group, while holding positions with the Hong Kong Institute of Urban Design and the Hong Kong Professional Green Building Council. In 2025, he became an adjunct professor of architecture and urban design at the City University of Hong Kong.
At SOM, Dennis will drive strategic development in the APAC region, cultivating client relationships and promoting SOM’s expertise in design, engineering, sustainability, and planning.
“Dennis will play a key role in our strategic growth across the APAC region,” said SOM Hong Kong Design Principal Nicolas Medrano. “His knowledge of the diverse range of cultures across the region, paired with his experience working from the city scale down to individual buildings, will help strengthen SOM’s ability to deliver the region’s most innovative and sustainable work.”
