Having worked in fashion, design, and architecture, Candace’s approach to finance is equal parts creative and analytic/strategic. As SOM’s Chief Financial Officer, Candace directs the firm’s global financial approach through long-term strategic planning, market-driven intelligence, and incorporating emerging technologies to drive future-focused analytics. With a multidisciplinary approach to business strategy and performance, Candace focuses on economic drivers and their impact on SOM’s growth.
I’ve always been inspired by the creatives I work with – whether I’m working on strategy for fashion, architecture or something in between, I try to approach my work as a design challenge. There are many ways to solve a problem, and some of the best ideas come from the most unexpected places.
Prior to joining SOM, Candace served as Chief Financial Officer at Perkins Eastman Architects, fashion brand Brooklyn Industries, and Ehrenkrantz Eckstut & Kuhn (EEK) Architects, and earlier served as business manager for fashion designer Zac Posen.
Candace sits on the American Institute of Architects’ CFO roundtable, is a member of the Financial Executives Network, and is a jury member for Professional Practice at Cornell University’s School of Architecture. She hails from Texas, but calls New York home.
