SOM Chosen for Airport Project

Chicago-based firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) has been tapped to design two satellite concourses at O’Hare Airport. The new concourses will cost $1.4 billion and span 1.2 million square feet. The design will feature trees enclosed in glass and open-air prairie gardens to provide passengers with fresh air while waiting for flights.
