The National Museum of the United States Army has been awarded LEED® Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. Scheduled to open on June 4th, 2020, the museum will become a center for education and inspiration, and a cultural institution of national significance.

On October 21st, 2019, Associate Director Georgi Petrov and senior architectural designer Daniel Inocente will co-present a paper on the Moon Village with professor Jeffrey Hoffman of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) at the International Astronautical Congress in Washington, D.C. The paper, titled "Master Planning and Space Architecture for a Moon Village," is co-written by SOM, MIT, and the European Space Agency.
