Yasemin Kologlu Appointed to Decarbonize NYC Offices Steering Committee

Design Director Yasemin Kologlu has been appointed to a new Steering Committee for the Decarbonizing New York City Offices initiative. In this capacity, Yasemin will help guide the NYSERDA/Building Energy Exchange (BE-Ex) and their partners to drive sustained decarbonization of leased office spaces in New York City.

“The Steering Committee convened for Decarbonizing New York City Offices is a dynamic group with expertise across multiple sectors, and together we are dedicated to enhancing our built environment and meeting the carbon emission goals set by the City and the State,” said Kologlu. “I look forward to supporting this crucial project to help create tools that can improve the performance of New York City’s commercial real estate.”

In addition, Yasemin recently served as a juror for the AIA’s 2021 COTE/ACSA Top Ten for Students Competition. The COTE Awards honor holistic design excellence that includes performance, resilience, and community connections.

These honors reflect Yasemin’s leadership in the field of sustainable design and construction. Yasemin is also a founder and firmwide leader of SOM’s Climate Action Group, which promotes stronger sustainable practices in our built environment, and is part of the AIA COTE NY and Carbon Leadership Forum NY (CLFNY) Steering Committees. Congratulations Yasemin!
