On Thursday, September 12th, Structural Engineering Partner William F. Baker will moderate a panel titled “In Their Own Words: Building the John Hancock.” The panel commemorates the 50th anniversary of the John Hancock Center, now known as 875 North Michigan Avenue. Original design team members, including two SOM alumni, Joseph Calaco and Richard Smits, will speak as panelists.
As part of the Building Tall lecture series hosted by the Chicago Architecture Center, the program is co-hosted by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH), the Chicago chapter of CTBUH, and the Chicago Committee on High Rise Buildings.
