On Wednesday, June 7th, SOM Structural and Civil Engineering Partner William F. Baker and Structural and Seismic Engineering Partner Mark Sarkisian will deliver a lecture at AIT ArchitekturSalon in Hamburg, Germany. The event coincides with the Hamburg opening of “The Engineering of Architecture,” a traveling exhibition that explores SOM’s decades-long history of structural engineering.
Informed by SOM’s 80-year history, Baker and Sarkisian will discuss the firm’s design philosophies, current projects, and emerging ideas within structural engineering. Global leaders in structural design, Baker and Sarkisian have realized some of the most complex projects in the built environment, including the Burj Khalifa, currently the world’s tallest man-made structure, and the new United States Courthouse in Los Angeles, which opened this year.
Open to the public, “The Engineering of Architecture” is on display at AIT ArchitekturSalon Hamburg from June 9 to July 7.
