Three SOM projects have been named finalists in Interior Design Magazine’s Best of Year Awards. The West Loop Branch of the Chicago Public Library is one of four “Library” finalists. The Taylor Street Apartments and Little Italy Branch Library, which combines Chicago Housing Authority apartments and a public library, is one of five finalists in the “Greater Good; Social Impact” category. The Netsch Residence, originally designed by SOM partner Walter Netsch and restored by a team in SOM’s Chicago office, is one of five finalists in the “Residential Transformation” category.
Finalists will be honored at an awards ceremony in New York on Friday, December 6th, at which time category winners will be announced.
