SOM’s Global History of Structures on Display in Munich This Winter

For decades, SOM’s Structural Engineering practice has continued to redefine urban landscapes worldwide. From the Sears Tower (now Willis Tower) in Chicago to the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the firm’s groundbreaking approach to structural engineering has changed the face of architecture. Now, for the first time, several SOM structural engineering projects will be on display together in a public exhibition.

“The Engineering of Architecture” delves into SOM’s storied history of research, design, and realization of cutting-edge projects. Launched in conjunction with DETAIL Engineering 4: SOM Structural Engineering, the exhibition will be held January 19th to March 4th at Architekturgalerie in Munich. To inaugurate the exhibition, SOM Structural Engineering Partners William F. Baker and Mark Sarkisian will present a lecture at the Oskar-von-Miller Forum, which will be followed by an opening reception at Architekturgalerie Munich.
