Six representatives from SOM will speak at the Facades+ Conference in New York City. The conference, which takes place Thursday, April 19th and Friday, April 20th, brings experts together to explore facade design and construction. The first day will include symposia and exhibits, and the second day will comprise a series of workshops led by industry professionals.
On April 19th, Associate Director Frank Mahan will discuss 35 Hudson Yards alongside Peter Arbour of Vidaris and Neil Thelen of Neil Thelen Architect PLLC. The event will highlight the high performance design principles and delivery strategies incorporated into the construction of Hudson Yards.
On April 20th, Associate Neil Katz, Structural Engineer Changjiang Zhou, and Architects Daniel Inocente, Max Haney, and Cong Ye will speak about hybridized expressions in performance-driven skyscrapers, the integration of design and engineering in skyscraper construction, and the convergence of structural analysis and design optimization.
