In Singapore, we’ve moved into Guoco Tower—a building we designed that currently stands as the city’s tallest. The new space gives us a direct vantage point overlooking the construction of 8 Shenton Way, which is set to become the nation’s first supertall tower when it’s completed in 2028. Beyond keeping us close to that site, this new base allows our team to better support our partners and expanding work across the Asia Pacific region. It’s a move that keeps us deeply connected to the city’s evolution while we help shape its next chapter.
From this new base, we can see the tower steadily taking its place on the skyline. The superstructure has reached the 15th floor—about a quarter of its final 305-meter height—and is beginning to reveal the scale of the planned terraces and elevated gardens. What’s less visible from the window, but arguably more important, is the hybrid construction strategy we’re using on site. By reusing portions of the existing foundations and infrastructure, we are significantly reducing embodied carbon and setting a new sustainability benchmark for high-rise development in the region.
“Our new space allows us to work one-on-one with our clients and partners in Singapore—an important step in the evolution of our practice in the region,” said Principal Nicolas Medrano. “Being directly across from The Skywaters site also keeps us closely connected to the project as it takes shape, which is invaluable as we work with our partners to carry the design vision through to completion in the heart of Singapore.”
Completed in 2017, Guoco Tower is a 64-storey, 290-meter mixed-use development recognized for its presence on the skyline, award-winning public spaces, and integrated connection to the Tanjong Pagar MRT station. With Grade-A workplaces, luxury residences, a hotel, retail, and an expansive public park, the development has transformed the surrounding district, demonstrating how high-density urban projects can be closely tied to transit, public life, and sustainability.
“Over many years of working in Singapore—from facilities on leading biomedical campuses to transit-connected districts and the city’s tallest towers—we’ve been fortunate to contribute to the evolution of the urban landscape here,” said Partner Vram Malek. “Establishing a base in Guoco Tower is the next step in that long-term commitment, and it enables us to collaborate even more closely with our clients and partners on master planning, sustainability, and urban innovation across the Asia Pacific region.”
Our growing presence in Singapore forms part of an integrated Asia Pacific network that includes studios in Hong Kong and Melbourne and leadership in Tokyo. Across the region, the firm is advancing projects that combine design excellence, advanced environmental performance, and engineering.
