The University of California, Merced has announced that all 11 buildings included in the university's recently completed 2020 Project—an ambitious public-private partnership that nearly doubled the campus footprint—have been awarded LEED Platinum certification.

On August 16th, 2018, the University of California, Merced hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of the first phase of the 2020 Project. The New United States Courthouse in Los Angeles; the San José-Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility Master Plan; India Basin; and the University of California Merced's 2020 Campus Development plan all received awards.
