Pournamasi Rath has been selected to the 2025 Crain’s New York Business Notable Leaders in Sustainability list. Honored among 35 leaders from across industries in New York City, Pournamasi was recognized for her role in shaping SOM’s climate strategy across scales and typologies.
A pioneer early on, she helped certify the first Passive House project in the state of New York. Today, she is leading the sustainability strategy for The New York Climate Exchange, a first-of-its-kind climate research campus targeting triple net-zero and the Living Building Challenge. Beyond buildings, she helped launch City CDR—a global initiative that provides a framework for carbon sink cities—and is a champion of New York City’s Climate Mobilization Act.
