…The station’s West End Concourse, which sits on the corner of 31st Street and 8th Avenue, is the first leg of an epic master plan by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill that will connect Penn Station with the McKim, Mead & White-designed Farley Post Office across the street. The new space, whose completion was delayed some six months due to technological issues, offers commuters interactive information screens and LED light displays en route to New Jersey Transit trains as well as unprecedented access from the city’s West side (no doubt an appeal to the developers of the nearby Hudson Yards complex).
