SOM Sustainability Director Mina Hasman was recently featured on the Solving for Climate podcast, a series that spotlights leading voices in innovation, design, and entrepreneurship addressing the global climate crisis.

In the episode, Hasman discusses SOM’s collaboration with Prometheus Materials on bio-concrete, an algae-based, carbon-sequestering alternative to concrete, and shares insights on Urban Sequoia, a systems-based approach, buildable today, that envisions cities as living, breathing ecologies capable of achieving dramatic reductions in whole-life carbon.
In addition to the podcast appearance, Hasman is also in the spotlight for her reappointment as Chair of the Royal Institute of British Architects’ (RIBA) Silver Medal judging panel, her third consecutive year in the role. The President’s Medals are RIBA’s oldest and most prestigious awards for architectural education, recognizing design excellence and innovation from students around the world.
