The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) has elected Mina Hasman, Sustainability Director, as a Chartered Fellow of the Institute (FRIBA)—its highest professional membership grade. The honor recognizes architects who have made a significant contribution to architecture and the built environment through leadership, innovation, and influence.
As a RIBA Chartered Fellow, Hasman is recognized for advancing climate leadership within the profession, supporting RIBA’s mission to champion ethical and forward-looking practice, and helping to embed climate knowledge as a core competency across education, practice, and public discourse.
As author of the RIBA Climate Guide and a key contributor to RIBA’s Climate Literacy Mandatory Competence Requirements, she has played a pivotal role in advancing industry-wide understanding of climate responsibility. The RIBA Fellowship Panel unanimously acknowledged the depth and reach of her impact on the profession.
“Mina’s election to the RIBA Fellowship is a well-deserved recognition of her leadership in advancing climate action across the profession,” said Partner Kent Jackson. “Her work has redefined sustainability in architecture as a fundamental responsibility. At SOM, she continues to shape our practice, embedding environmental performance and long-term impact at the core of everything we do.”
