Mina Hasman and Mohamed Sheriff to Speak at Shaping the City Conference in Venice

On Saturday, October 13th, SOM Associate Mina Hasman and senior architect Mohamed Sheriff will speak at the European Cultural Centre (ECC) in Venice as part of “Shaping the City: A Forum for Sustainable Cities and Communities.” The two-day event includes sessions on livable communities, sustainability, and innovations in the field.

Hasman and Sheriff will discuss the importance of considering sustainability at the earliest design stages. In their presentation, titled “Influencing Our Inheritance,” they will share insight on designing healthy, functional, and resilient cities for future generations.

“Shaping the City” was organized in conjunction with “Time Space Existence,” an exhibition hosted by the ECC as part of the 2018 Venice Biennale. SOM is one of the contributing firms represented in the exhibition. As participants in “Shaping the City,” Hasman and Sheriff will expand on the themes raised in the exhibition.
