SOM Design Director Javier Arizmendi is speaking at the XXIII International Symposium on Civil Engineering, EDIFICA 2016. Taking place on November 3-5, 2016, the event is hosted by the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (Tecnológico de Monterrey). The school is one of the largest private universities in Mexico and offers a variety of programs in architecture, design, engineering, technology and science.
The symposium covers topics such as urbanism, structures and hydrology, and hydraulics, among others. The school asked Arizmendi to speak about his expertise in architecture and building systems integration, as well as his career and some of the challenges he has faced. The symposium is a nonprofit event, organized by university students, which seeks to create learning spaces through lectures, workshops, visits, and competitions for local students and international attendees.
