The Australian Smart Skyscrapers Virtual Summit aims to bring together the architecture and design communities virtually to discuss, share and exchange ideas, serving as a platform to stay connected in these uncertain times. The virtual summit will attempt to address the systemic shifts across the high-rise sector in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and seek to redefine what a smart’ and sustainable’ tall building looks like.
On April 28 at 2:20pm AEST, Design Associate Jarrad Morgan will speak on the design of Central Place Sydney, the future centerpiece of Tech Central in Australia. The design collaboration between SOM and Fender Katsalidis, will transform the western edge of Central Station with new commercial buildings and public realm improvements to enhance this southern gateway to the CBD.
As the flagship of the new Tech Central precinct, the project will encompass approximately 150,000 square meters of office and retail space. It will be one of the most sustainable commercial developments in Australia and create a workplace environment that is closely tied to nature and amenity.
