In New York, Madison Avenue Tower Gets Lobby Revamp

Rudin Management Co. is investing $15 million to renovate a modernist office building, revamping its lobby to create a glass beacon across from Madison Square Park.

Rudin, an owner and developer and one of New York City’s real-estate dynasties, has commissioned the architectural firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP to brighten and expand the ground-floor lobby at 41 Madison Ave…

The revamp will create a lobby space with double-height ceilings enclosed with glass. Lit from within, this new space is designed to be visible from the park as a “welcoming, inviting gesture,” said Roger Duffy, a Skidmore, Owings & Merrill partner overseeing the renovation.
