SOM welcomes three new leaders to its global management team: Candace Carroll, Doryse Franco, and Daria Pahhota, to head up our finance, people, and communications teams. The three leaders will play a key role in advancing SOM’s culture and operations, including its commitment to sustainable design, diversity, talent, client relations, and global business growth.

Candace Carroll joins SOM as Chief Financial Officer, directing the company's approach to financial management through collaboration, global strategic planning, and streamlining processes. Candace has more than 20 years of financial leadership experience across the design, fashion and architectural industries. Most recently, Candace served as Chief Financial Officer at Perkins Eastman Architects. With a culture-oriented and intersectional approach to financial strategy and performance, Candace is motivated by creating a shared understanding and focus on business drivers and their impact on financial growth.

Doryse Franco, SOM’s new Chief People Officer, is a leading talent and human resources leader with 18 years of experience shaping the culture of global companies through talent. Doryse joins SOM from Ogilvy, where she served as Senior Director of Human Resources and Talent Management. In her new role, Doryse will provide strategic leadership and build relationships, cultivating SOM’s culture and driving change as the design industry continues its rapid evolution.

Daria Pahhota is SOM’s new Global Communications Leader, charged with telling SOM’s story, which spans decades and includes some of the most exciting and unexpected buildings, master plans, structural systems, and spaces at all scales and types in cities around the world. Daria most recently served as Chief Communications Officer for the global architecture practice Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG).
