Fargo Block 9 Tops Out

SOM’s first project in Fargo, North Dakota, Block 9, has topped. The tallest building in Fargo, and the second tallest in the state, the mixed-use Block 9 will house commercial, hotel, and residential space. With a slender profile and a design inspired by the agriculture and architectural vernacular of the Great Plains, the 18-story tower respects Fargo’s urban heritage and scale, while introducing contemporary elements and community spaces to the city’s historic streetscape.

The lower floors of Block 9 will house the new corporate headquarters of R.D. Offutt Company. A boutique hotel, developed by Aparium Hotel Group, will occupy the central floors of the tower. Residences and condominiums on the top floors will feature floor-to-ceiling windows, with expansive views of the city.
