After decades of growth, John Jay has increasingly become a research-focused institution, especially in the area of criminal justice. A critical element of its transformation has been the implementation of an ambitious expansion plan which has nearly doubled its science facilities with laboratories for science education and research on campus. The College’s new 625,000 ft building features a three-story Science Quad, strategically placed as “a gem in the crown of the University,” according to Lawrence Kobilinsky, Chair of the Department of Sciences.
