SOM Design Director Eric Keune has co-authored 100 Buildings, a book on the 100 best architectural projects of the twentieth century. Keune wrote 100 Buildings in collaboration with architect Thom Mayne, scholars Val Warke and Andrea Simitch, and The Now Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles. More than forty renowned architects and scholars—including Peter Eisenman, Jeanne Gang, and the late Zaha Hadid—were asked to name 100 twentieth-century architectural projects they would teach to students.
Published by Rizzoli in late 2017, 100 Buildings offers a curated master list of the twentieth-century’s most influential iconic modern buildings. 100 Buildings is described by Rizzoli as “an accessible primer to the most important architectural touchstones of our time by today’s leading architects and teachers of architecture.” 100 Buildings includes the SOM-designed Lever House and Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library.
Keune is also the author of Paffard Keating-Clay: Modern Architect(ure)/Modern Master(s), published in 2006.
