Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) has announced that it will colead the design of a community gathering place/small business incubator/”eco-food hub” in Englewood, a neighborhood on Chicago’s South Side. Winning out over three other development teams, the Englewood Connect team was selected by the City of Chicago to realize its mixed-use project as part of Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s $750 million pedestrian-oriented INVEST South/West community improvement initiative.
