?Six SOM projects have been named finalists across nine categories in this year’s Architizer A+ Awards. Selected from thousands of submissions, the finalists will now be considered for a Jury Award, determined by a panel of esteemed judges, and a Popular Choice Award, based on public voting. Voting is open on Architizer’s website through April 1st, 2016.
The six SOM finalists are: JTI Headquarters in the Commercial: Office – Mid Rise (5-15 Floors)? category, the Concepts: Architecture +Engineering? category, and the Building Products: Façades & Glazing? category as “Closed Cavity Facade?”; Jiangxi Nanchang Greenland Zifeng Tower? in the Commercial: Office – High Rise (16+ Floors)? category and the Commercial: Mixed Use? category; AMIE 1.0 in the Concepts: Architecture +3D Printing? category; P.S. 62 The Kathleen Grimm School for Leadership and Sustainability? in the Institutional: Primary & High Schools? category; Jiangxi Nanchang Greenland Central Plaza, Parcel A? in the Details: Architecture +Glass? category; ??and The Strand – Environmental Graphics in the Concepts: Architecture +Branding? category.
Additionally two SOM projects received special mentions: Al Ahmadi Cultural Center in the Cultural: Unbuilt Cultural? category, and Jiangxi Nanchang Greenland Central Plaza, Parcel A? in the Commercial: Office – High Rise (16+ Floors)? category.
Now in its fourth year, the Architizer A+ Awards recognize outstanding architecture in more than 100 distinct categories. Architizer A+ Jury winners and Popular Choice winners will be announced on April 12th, 2016.
