On Wednesday, November 2nd, SOM Design Partner Brian Lee will speak at the School of Architecture at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Presenting on “Innovation in Practice,” Lee will highlight SOM’s recent research into new building methods and typologies, including his work on the Additive Manufacturing Integrated Energy (AMIE 1.0) demonstration project, currently the world’s largest 3D-printed polymer enclosure and a model for off-grid urban living.
Lee’s design portfolio encompasses an array of award-winning domestic and international projects at all scales, including the Chicago Public Library, Chinatown Branch and the China World Trade Center in Beijing.
