All Aboard Florida Wins Fast Company 2015 Innovation by Design Award

Fast Company magazine announced today that All Aboard Florida has won a 2015 Innovation by Design Award. All Aboard Florida is the only privately owned, operated, and financed transportation project of its kind being developed in the United States today. The 235-mile rail network connects South Florida to Central Florida, providing a vital new service for Florida residents and visitors while eliminating more than three million car trips from the region’s roadways each year.

The rail network connects three stations designed by SOM-located in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach. Each of these new stations serves as both a gateway to its respective city, and as an iconic destination filled with spaces to shop, eat, and interact.

Now in its fourth year, Fast Company’s Innovation by Design Awards program honors “the most innovative and disruptive design solutions to today’s business problems.” A jury of design leaders selected All Aboard Florida from 1,500 international submissions, the most ever received. As one of 13 winners, All Aboard Florida is recognized as an exemplar of “world-changing design.”
