SOM Structural and Seismic Engineering Partner Mark Sarkisian will speak at the 24th Annual Academic Conference on China High-Rise Building Structural Design. He will deliver a keynote presentation, titled “High-Rise of the Future: Inspired by Nature,” ?on Wednesday, November 30th.
The conference, which will be held in Suzhou, China, is hosted by the Architectural Society of China. The four-day event will bring together the world’s leading scholars on structural engineering and architectural design to discuss recent discoveries, challenges, and case studies from buildings around the world.
SOM Associates Jin Chen and Zhaofan Li, from SOM’s Chicago and Shanghai offices respectively, will also be attending the conference. Chen will present findings from his paper on the “Analysis of Supertall Buildings in Time-Dependent, Nonlinear Construction.”
