On April 30, 2015, Jason Chen, senior digital design professional at SOM, will present at the BIMForum Conference in San Diego, California. Chen’s talk, titled “Augmented Deliverables,” will explore how BIM drawings and data can supplement and enhance the traditional drawing set. Using BIM, architects and engineers can produce the standard suite of plans, sections, and elevations, while simultaneously amassing a rich, highly detailed trove of data and information on the project. Chen will argue that the ability to produce these kind of “augmented deliverables” has contributed to the success of large, multinational, multiparty projects.
