The Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) in London has recognized SOM Director Dmitri Jajich and Associate Director Stuart Marsh in the People and Papers Awards 2020, selecting “Manhattan Loft Gardens, London: Balancing Design and Constructability” as the Murray Buxton Award recipient.
In the technical article, which was published in November 2019, Jajich and Marsh discuss the innovative structural systems and strategies utilized at Manhattan Loft Gardens (now known as The Stratford), a 42-story residential and hotel tower.
The People and Papers Awards recognize outstanding contributions in structural engineering for papers published in The Structural Engineer magazine. An awards ceremony, postponed due to COVID-19, will take place in 2021.
