Fernando Herrera leads a large global architecture studio based in SOM’s San Francisco office. Fernando has worked across all typologies, scales, and geographic markets–including large-scale projects in China, India, and the United States. As an architect, he collaborates closely with structural engineers and urban planners. He thrives on creative problem-solving, addressing each new challenge with rigor, integrity, and creativity. Fernando believes that integrated design-thinking leads to rich placemaking, that has a meaningful and lasting impact on people.
