Roger Weber Speaks at Behavior, Energy and Climate Change Conference

On Monday, October 8th, Associate Roger Weber will speak at the Behavior Energy and Climate Change Conference in Washington, D.C. He will discuss SOM’s work on the Oakland EcoBlock, a sustainable planning project in Oakland, California. Weber’s presentation will be part of a “lighting round” session that will be moderated by Ed Wisniewski of the Consortium for Energy Efficiency.?

SOM works on the Oakland EcoBlock alongside 15 other organizations, including both the College of Environmental Design, and the Energy & Resources Group, of the ?University of California, Berkeley. The project explores the opportunity for cities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reach net-zero energy performance through the retrofitting of existing, adjoined buildings. ?The multidisciplinary team includes urban designers, architects, policy experts, and other professionals. The project is funded by a two-year planning grant from the California Energy Commission.?
